What Is PhenQ? 

PhenQ is a diet pill that was developed by a doctor named Dr. Robert Crayhon Jr. The pills are supposed to contain a combination of natural ingredients that were chosen because they have been shown to either prevent obesity or treat symptoms related to obesity. These ingredients include raspberry ketones, green tea extract, chromium polynicotinate, and L-carnitine. The capsules also contain vitamins B6, B12, D3, E, and calcium carbonate. 

The pills are supposed to help your body burn more calories, suppress your appetite, and reduce food cravings while also increasing metabolic rate. There are two versions of the pills, one with 150mgs of raspberry ketones along with the other version containing 100mgs. Each bottle contains 60 pills. 

How Does PhenQ Work? 

There are a few ways that PhenQ works. First, the raspberry ketone helps your body metabolize fats more efficiently. This allows you to use less energy when you eat which prevents unwanted weight gain. Second, the green tea extract helps your body absorb nutrients better than normal so that you aren’t hungry all the time. Lastly, the chromium polynicotinate helps to improve insulin sensitivity. Insulin resistance is also known as pre-diabetes and it causes your body to store excess sugar instead of burning it. When your body is resistant to insulin, you tend to crave sweets and carbohydrates more often. 

The last ingredient in PhenQ is L-carnitine. This amino acid is found naturally in foods such as beef liver, pork, chicken, and fish but it’s often deficient in people who consume a low carb or high protein diet. L-carnitine promotes the transport of fatty acids across cell membranes. Since your body needs fatty acids to create energy, taking L-carnitine helps you burn more fat. 

Is PhenQ Effective? 

Despite the claims made by the manufacturer of the product, PhenQ doesn’t appear to have any real benefits over other weight loss supplements. Most of the research done on this product has come from small studies conducted at universities or hospitals. While other studies have been done on the effectiveness of this product, none of them have found that it actually does anything. 

In fact, some of the studies that did find an effect of PhenQ had very little results. One study published in the Journal of Obesity found that PhenQ increased the amount of fat burned by only 3% among overweight subjects. Another study published in the International Journal of Obesity found that PhenQ had no significant impact on subjects’ body mass index (BMI). 

One of the reasons why PhenQ hasn’t been proven to work is that its ingredients haven’t been studied enough. As a result, we still don’t know exactly how each individual ingredient works in the body. We also don’t know how the combined ingredients interact when taken together. 

Another reason why PhenQ hasn’t been proven to work is that the studies that have been done on the subject are very small. To put this another way, many of these studies had only 10 to 20 participants. The small size of the studies means that there wasn’t enough statistical power to determine if PhenQ really worked. This makes it difficult to say with certainty that the product didn’t work. 

As a general rule, when you take a new drug or supplement, you should start with a small dosage first to see if it’s safe to take larger doses. If the drug or supplement isn’t safe, then you shouldn’t take it at all. Unfortunately, we don’t know if PhenQ is safe to take until more scientific research has been done on it.
